Steve Dawson is a Juno Award-winning songwriter, guitarist, steel & slide guitarist, and bandleader whose work spans roots, Americana, folk, jazz, blues, rock, and acoustic-based music. His projects reflect a long-standing interest in tone, songcraft, and traditions that feel lived-in rather than preserved. Steve regularly performs and tours as a duo, trio or with his full band The Hooded Mergansers. Steve has released 11 albums under his own name, and 3 before that with his Juno Award-winning group Zubot & Dawson.

The Volcano Brothers

Steve’s deep passion for pre-WW2 Hawaiian music is on fine display in The Volcano Brothers. Started with multi-instrumentalist Fats Kaplin in 2022, the band has grown to include Dave Jacques (bass), Richard Bennett (ukulele), Jim Hoke (horns), and Andy Reiss (guitar). The Volcano Brothers perform regularly around Nashville. Watch for their debut release coming in 2026!
